I am having a hard time here! I am trying to convert an AVI file to MPeg vcd using virtual dub. first of all I am having problems with installing the codecs. I am not sure whether thay are fully installed or not, so I am currently seeking info on that here and elsewhere (Divx digest, doom9,etc.) Next, after assuming that they might be installed right, I try again, and I get a message that I did not even get the first time. It says immediatley after trying to open file " My documents folder cannot be found" Please chect the path to the target folder or something like that. Now, this may not be having to do with dig video conversion, but it happended while trying to get it right, and now I think I screwed somethign up! Or maybe it is a problem with Vdub? If someone can tell me not only what the hell I messed up, but also how to fix it, I will be so grateful! I am not sure how to fix this, I have access to all the folders when exploring and al, but vdub says access is denied.

maybe try moving your source to a temporary directory like c:\tmp
that might get around the problem. you're trying to convert to VCD with VirtualDub? I didn't know you could do that. you might want to just get TMPG, and follow the guides here. TMPG is free for mpeg1, and does an excellent job. it is also pretty easy to use, and the guides here are top notch
    hope that helps
