I need help in burning a VCD in Nero.

I usually can burn VCDs without problems in Nero but now I am encountering a problem I cannot solve.

I used to be able to burn around 90 video clips into a VCD. Nero has a limit I think of 99 video clips that it can burn onto a CDR.

I have quite a collection of various video files that I downloaded from the net. These files are of various lengths ranging from a few seconds to around 15 minutes. They are of all different video specs so I converted them all to Video CD standard using TMPEnc.

Total clips I want to burn is around 80 clips. when I burn it I get these errors: "parameter and "cannot perform

Why does this happen? I try to lessen number of clips. When I lessen clips to 41 it burns OK. But more than that the error occurs.

I am thinking that maybe a file is corrupt or something but no matter how I rearrange the clips I get the error.

It seems that the key is fewer files but I am wondering why I was able to burn around 90 clips before.

Considering that some files are just 10 seconds long, burning 41 clips means only around 10 minutes in the CDR. It would be a waste.

Does Nero have certain other limitations on VCD burning?

Anybody have a way to fix this? thanks!!

    My Nero version is 5578

  3. Very much sounds like a bug in Nero. I have no immediate solution for Nero (try the latest version maybe) but

    1. have you tried VCDEasy or TCSV. These will both build VCDs (and are freeware). They generate Bin/Cue files which can be burnt with a variety of programs (including Nero)

    2. To use Nero you could merge all the files into one big MPEG file using amongst other utilities, TMPGEnc's MPEG Tools. This way Nero should not object as you will have only one MPEG file.

Other than that I am very interested in your problem as I use Nero a lot for VCD (generally up to 30 files at a time in my case).

found out what the problem was.

I had one clip that was like really short. I think Nero cannot burn a VCD if its length is less than 1 second or millisecond.

Took them out and it burned ok.
