impossible for avi 2 mpg! is there a way?

Damn it, but i think there is no way i can do it. first, i have this Divx avi file. i want to make a vcd, but i cant. i extract the audio with vurtualDUB, then open the video file, and when iclick the button for browse, for audio, i get this:



this error usually comes, sooner or later. ok, then, i try to use the Huffy UV codec, and i save with virual dub, and at 4GB, boom, it stops, and tells me that on fat32, u can have file more then 4gb in 1 file. can some one PLESE HELP ME!! what do you recommend?

Please check the properties for your Divx file. I'm willing to bet that your movie has an odd apect ratio. For some reason TMPGEnc is has trouble converting Divx AVIs that have been cropped. For example: If you take a movie that is 720x480 and covert it to Divx. You should be able to convert this AVI back to MPEG. But if I take the same movie and crop it (maybe to remove the letterbox effect in 16:9 DVDs) to say 580x240 the resulting file will choke TMPGEnc. If the is a way to correct this issue I don't know what it is. I just thought you might like to know why this happens.

thats probably a problem, i have to use the huffyUV codec, and i hate using it. anything thing else i can try?

Ok, your OS (operating system) is installed on a fat32 partitions...

currently there are 3 partitions a PC can use.
Fat 16 <--- Windows 3.1
Fat 32 <--- Windows 95+
NTFS <--- (Windows NT +)

So to get by the problem, you will need 2 format your computer, and reinstall windows NT or higher (preferably 2000, me, or XP) and use the NTFS partition system.

i think that TMPGEnc doesnt work with divx files only, everytime else, it works fine.
