Is there any way to make the picture more crisp. The quality is always boxy when i play it on my Apex. I hope someone can help me. Thanks.

You should do a search through the forum on SVCD quality. You'll find a LOT of opinions!
But basically, the more you try to fit on an SVCD, the lower the bitrate and the lower the quality. Most people would probably agree that if you try to stuff more than an hour onto a CD you'll see a noticable degredation.
At maximum bit rate, you can fit maybe 35 or 40 minutes onto a disc. I usually stick 44 minutes (an hour long TV show with the commercials cut out) onto each CD and it looks great. It usually comes down to trial and error with different encoding schemes to get the quality you like.
After months of practice, I've learned that you really do have to use 2 pass VBR to get the best looking discs.
Good luck!
