    Hello!
My collegue could play normal, standard MPEG files (No VCD or SVCD)with his old Mustek DVD-Player but the player was damaged. He has forgotten the model name and I bought last week the new Mustek V562 and can´t play MPEG files, only VCD and SVCD.
I have burned in the past a lot of MPEG movies on CD-R for the computer and it would be great to play this CD´s with my standalone player!

If it is not possible to play with my Mustek V562 this files I would buy
    and other player.
Please tell me what brands and models can play normal MPEG files!!

    Thank you!!

    Bye

  2. If your Mustek plays vcd's it should play .jpeg pictures. Here's how(use a cdr/w to test):
1)select data in your burn software.
    2)import .jpeg photos.
    3)burn DAO ISO9660
If it doesn't play, check "DVD Players" for compatibilty.

Thank you MOVIEGEEK for your quick reply!
The problem are no ".jpeg-files" but ".MPG or .MPEG-files"!
If I burn a VCD or SVCD on the CD are 4 or 5 directories with infos for the DVD player. I have a lot of burned CD´s only with f.e.
"ice-age-CD1.mpg" and this files the DVD player should be able to play.
The old Mustek DVD-Player was able to play those files!!!

Otherwise I have to convert all my .mpg-files into VCD format!!!!

    Bye

  4. Sorry, I had mpeg block... all better now.
Substitute mpeg's for jpeg's in my earlier post.My Mintek 2110 plays mpeg-1 & 2(up to 9000kbps) the way I described in the earlier post.

My Apex 5131 can play mpeg files copied to cdr, but no fast forward or rewind unless you author to VCD or SVCD standard.

I can put jpeg pictures, mpegs, mp3s, on a disk and the Apex 5131 will load a directory and let you navigate and it will play it..

Nice 3 disk changer player and can be had for only like 129.00 now.

I have found a DVD player which supports standard MPEG files. I´m from germany and I have checked several brands in the media markt shop. Momentarily the media markt offers a Deowoo DVD player EURO 139,- which plays my MPEG files.
After put in the CD-R the player offers a menu and you can select the file you want to play. After selection the MPEG file it starts!!

Better quality of video and audio like my Mustek V562!!!

BYE and thanks for your help!!
