  1. Hi all.

    Need help with YV12 - Xmpeg 4.5 decoding when I try to decode DVD rip to DivX with these settings using 2 - pass mode causes strange problem to me. First pass goes succesfully but when xmpeg has done 60 % which is 10 % of second pass my computer restarts. Iīm currently using Win XP but it does same with ME & 2000.
    Also tried different versions of divx and different progs... Overheating it canīt be...

    My current system is 1400 Mhz AMD Athlon, 384 RAM, Geforce 2 mx 200

    Please help me...

  2. Anykey,
    I suspect your audio codec might be at fault. When you enable the 2nd pass option in XMPEG the audio stream is not processed until the second pass begins. Since I don't believe in coincidence I would start troubleshooting here. How are you processing the audio? What codec are you using? Are you converting it to MP3? Are you doing a direct stream? Depending on your answers I can make some suggestions.

  3. Thanks for reply... I havenīt tought of it.
    But I use Radium mp3 codec. Itīs easy. But how it can work when Iīm using 1-pass decoding ?? And not when using 2-pass.

    I have limited discspace so I canīt take room for divx more than 1,5 Gb which includes sound too.

    Thanks in advance

  4. So you are able to successfully rip to dixv in a sigle pass? Hmmm I had a similar issue when using the Radium Codec with Xmpeg 4.2. While my pc did not reboot I would constantly get 'Illegal Opererations' that would crash XMPEG. Here is what I did to correct my issue, hopefully it will work for you.

    In the control panel goto "sounds and audio devices"
    -->Hardware-->Audio codecs-->properties
    Now you'll get a list with the audio codecs you have installed.
    There should be one or two entries for the fraunhoffer mp3 CODEC(s). Open each and set the priority(s) so the that all mp3 codecs are at the top of the list. (Set to 1, 2).

    Try again to encode a divx movie.

    This worked for me, let me know if this works for you as well.
