I have an MPEG2 file in the format I would like and with the required quality, but playing that as a SVCD doesn't allow me to use the "next" or "previous" functions on my remote control. If I encode the file with DVD2SVCD and select the "chapter option" then I do get these chapters.
How do I add them manually based on a good MPEG2 file?![]()

It's not added to the file, it's added to the disk. You use an application like VCDImager+VCDEasy to define the navigation in your disk, part of which is how to respond to Prev/Next keys.
