Probably some Noise in your tape, not the overall picture type noise, but the Noise such as a sudden jump in the tape, maybe a wrinkle in the physical tape [Everyone at some point has had an tape that was almost eaten only to save it, but you didn't really save it because the spot where you saved the tape was never the same again]
Some sudden wrinkle in the tape or major piece of noise in the tape threw off the DVC I MovieStar Software. No way around this, unless you can find the spot in your tape and figure how to record either without that piece of video or around it. Record up to that point and after or keep trying to record that piece untile MoveStar gets it right, but there's no way of knowing without stopping to play the clip because MovieStar doesn't display how many frames are dropped.
So basically your out of luck with a real solution, just the usual
Try Try and Try Again Routine
If you have to re-encode then it kind of defeats the purpose of recording real time MPEG's only then having to re-encode after the fact. -
I think its all tapes I use that are 6 hr long, at the audio is getting out of synch after like 5mins
