  1. ok.... i'm no stranger to computers, vcd, etc. why the hell am i having sooo many problems with converting an uncompressed avi to divx?(trying to do my own tvrips) this is and shouldn't be a complicated process!
i choose full processing mode for both audio and video, i choose divx codec, and mpeg-layer3(128kbps 44,100 16bit blah...) anyway, when i go to save the file i get an error message saying that "The requested conversion is not possible"

the thing is, i've done this before, no problem! so why wont it work now??? i can either encode video to divx, or audio to mpeg3, but not both at the same time. the problem is that if i try to go back and encode audio later, the video is then uncompressed. ARRRRGGGGGHHHHH!

Sooo.. what size video is this uncompressed avi? 320x240? Some videos must be an even multiple of 16 or 32 pixels if I remember correctly.

And if you are trying to use MPEG audio, I assume you must have installed the Radium codec to get that 128 rate? If you are trying to use one of the DivX audio codecs, please note that unless it says it's for DivX after the encoding parameters, it may not work.
