    Greetings,

I have not had to encounter this before but here goes.

I capture to MPEG 1 VCD format no problem. But quality from ANALOG camcorder to this is poor (ATI All in wonder card)

I have only recently played with AVI. So decided to do this and the quality was EXCELLENT. Sound, great. Now I want to convert to VCD format using TMPG and it worked just fine...or so I thought. Played back and ARRGGGG. Audio sync problem. I dont want to use Goldwave to add space...I want this to work.

My version of TMPG is the one two versions before the new PAY version. (dont have it handy here ). The sync problem at least is uniform.

Also, is there an MPEG 2 codec/plug-in I can use in place of the one that expired with TMPG ? Also (sorry) this may be related. I used to remember seeing the VFAPI plugin under environment in TMPG. Now I dont see it ...Did I lose it somehow ? What should it say in environment ???

Thanks for your answers and patience........

  2. What framerate Your video (fps). It is very important. Your MPEG Video could be frame rate equal or less than source.
    With kind regards Yury.

    Hi and thanks.

Capture using ATI All in wonder PC VCR - Setting for AVI
    320X240 29.97 FPS
    UYVY Format
    44.100 KHz 16 Bit Stereo

Now that comes out great. Gave it to TMPG to convert to VCD , NTSC (not film) and it was out of sync.

Now that was 2.02.31 core 1.80.116 version

Tried again with 2.54.37.135 core 1.87.133 and it seems okay.

I need to run some tests.

    Thank you !
