Just as the subject says, when I try to open a .vdr file in cinema craft encoder to encode my avi and resize it at the same time, it either freezes or most recently, after I reinstalled cce, it says "not an avi file". I know that it is supposed to open, any suggestions?

Just drag and drop the *.vdr into the cce window. You should tell us, which VD, CCE versions you use, CPU, audio yes/no and all that. Sometimes it helps to read the frameserve guide.

Thanks. I'm reading the Frameserve guide that you posted in your first post to see what i'm doing wrong. I'm using virtualdub 1.4.9, cce 2.50, no audio. I am going to see if dragging and dropping the file will load it without freezing cce.

Okay, I followed the directions on the frameserve guide, and selected my wave file before I started frameserving, then dragged and dropped the vbr file as you suggested. This allowed me to open the file!! I am going to do a 4 pass encode, and post my results. Thanks for your help Truman.
