5 min video email

What is the format used to convert a 5 min mpeg1 video clip so it can be reasonably sent thru email ?

I don't think there is an option to make a video of that size email friendly. My only thought is to break it down into smaller clips, but that would defeat the purpose. You could just sign up for a free internet site and upload it, then send the link to the person.

I do this sometimes just for fun.

If you use a small frame size 160 x 120 and low bit rate 500 kbps you should be just fine. Keep in mind that your background is stationary and so are you for the most part so you can get by with the low bit rate to keep the overall file size down.

I just capture directly to MPEG-1 from the camcorder when I do this and then send the MPEG as an attachment.
