how can i convert my mpa audio track to wav for tmpgenc

tmpgenc will not let me load mpa files from dvd2avi
so how can i convert to wav not using virtual dub whilst still retaining quality

Easiest way for me

open WinAmp - drag the file in

go to Options->Prefrences->Plug-in's-Output

select Nullsoft Diskwriter -- hit configure and select where you want the WAV file to be saved

close out of all the windows - press play on WinAmp -- it will convert it to WAV (pretty quickly too)

just remember to reset WinAmp back if to wavOutput if you use it to play mp3's

Why are you converting from mpa? mpa files should input into TMPGenc.

they should but the truth is a lot of times they dont

even on my own system sometimes I can't force TMPGEnc to take them - instead of fighting with TMPGEnc it's easier to just convert it
