  1. I'm using TMPGenc to encode a movie that is 99 minutes long. i split it up into two 50minute segments. When i start the encoding, it goes REALLY slow (18 hrs). This wasnt happening before.

I did try to burn SVCD the first time because i wanted better quality, but once i saw that 18hrs, I cancelled it.

so I switched back to VCD and it is still the same speed.

    whats the deal??????

  3. well, it is possible, I'll have to check that when I get home. I was playing with different settings trying to improve quality because I had so many megabytes to play with. I dont even remember what i did.

but i eventually gave up and tried it the the normal ntsc template and still got a 18 hr encoding time.....??????

Is it not a good idea to increase the bitrates???? It just seems like a shame to have all those MB's left.

where would i have changed the filter settings at?

  4. Trty extracting the audio as a WAV with Virtualdub then re-encode with TMPGE using the WAV file as the audio source.

I have a similar problem with TMPGENC 2.54 PLUS. Encoding takes 18 to 30 hrs depending on VCD or SVCD. The same encoding done with TMPGENC 2.54 using the same templates run 3 to 5 hours. Any ideas are welcomed. Maybe that is what the PLUS stands for?
