  1. Hi I'm a newbie at this kind of stuff... so um I have a Samsung DVD 611 dvd player, and I have Nero 5.5, and when I try to burn vcds using Compusa 16x 80 min, 700 mb CD-Rs, it doesn't play on the DVD player, but it does play on the computer. I've tried burning at 2x, 4x, and 12x, but it doesn't seem to work. The compatibility list says that the DVD player I have is compatible with CD-R Blue layer... I don't know what that means, but the CD-Rs I use are gold on top and blue on the bottom...and also, another question: What is a multiregion player? There is a hack available for the DVD player I have and it turns it into a multiregion player... okay any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated!

  2. a multiregion player....can play titles from different regions. i.e. region 1 (Us/can), and countries like region 2,3,4,5,6,6,7,8,9,0, well I got carried away forgive me. But these "other region titles would otherise not play in the DVDplayer

btw those colors refer to the color of the disc meltable area

  3. According to the DVD player list, it seems that your player is not that flexible. It seems to be sort of hit and miss w/different blue layered (bottom color) CDRs. Did you by chance read the comments on your player? I find that to be the most helpful since peopel actually post their results there.

I have a Samsung DVD-709 and with extensive research and wasteing of cd's i have come to the conclusion that samsung will only take 2 kinds of cd's. Anykind of ReWritable CD shold work, the only other kind of cd that i have got to work is a brand named STI which is only avaliable at either circuit city, or on the internet! You must also get the vcd in vcd 2.0 format, it WILL NOT WORK if it is in vcd 1.1 format! that is the biggest problem that i've been having, and the only way that i've been able to tell whether or not its in VCD 2.0 format is to load it useing NERO burning rom 5.5! if it loads into the vcd after it checks the file then it should be fine, but if it gives you some shit about it not being 2.0 compliant then it WON'T WORK! you have to use some kind of program to convert it into 2.0 specs! good luck!

  5. If I want to burn music videos onto a cd, do they have to be in a special format too? Like how you mentioned vcds have to be in vcd 2.0 format?
