  1. For the life of me I cant do anything with cd3 OF SPIDEY.

I couldnt even play the file with normal mpeg2 codecs. I had to download ELECARD MPEG2 Video Decoder in order to run it in media player.

What bloody format is this file in? I cant even open it in Tmpgenc or Flask. I'm also trying Premiere with the LSX mpeg codecs but still nothing. Can anybody suggest anything?

Is there any software that will do some kind of file scan and tell you the format/bit-rate etc

THe other 2 CDs are totally fine. Whats the difference with this one? (its the mpeg and not the bin file)

  2. I used VCRGEAR to make an MPEG from the Bin/Cue and was able to demux it in DVD2AVI and then encode with TMPGenc. Trying to get it out of the PAL format?

  3. I can help you here -- ok first if your going to watch it on your PC you really should get some DVD software to watch SVCD's

But if you want to watch it with windows media player you must do this first - extract the MPEG from the bin/cue with VCDGear and make sure you have "fix mpeg errors" checked!!

if you already have them as MPEG- run them through VCDGear with "MPEG->MPEG" selected but also have "fix mpeg errors" checked

this will make them watchable MPEG-2's ...

you could also just convert them in TMPGEnc or using DVD2AVI if you wanted to

    Hi There

I shall make this very simple....

DO NOT USE VCDgear TO EXTRACT THE MPEG FROM THE BINFILE

I'll say it again just in case you missed it first time around

DO NOT USE VCDgear TO EXTRACT THE MPEG FROM THE BINFILE

Instead use ISOBUSTER to extract the Mpeg from the Bin file.

Then get a hold of POWERDVD or WINDVD and use them to play the SVCD.

Windows Media player is shit when it comes to playing SVCD even with the correct codecs installed.

    Well hope that helps

  7. what the f*uck is your deal?

    USE VCDGEAR IT WORKS FINE

try not to reply like a child with those annoying fonts!!

I'm telling him what worked for me - your just replying like a f*ucking 4 year old -- now I wish I took Baldrick up on that offer to be a moderator!!!!!!!!

Let me explain to you why your a MORON

WinDVD or PowerDVD will play both files (extacted by ISOBuster or VCDGear) -- but VCDGear will correct the mpeg header errors so you can play it in MS Media Player if you want to! It's up to him to decide what he likes best! -- the extracted mpeg's will not play in MS Media Player if the headers aren't corrected - there is a small error in the spiderman SVCD encode -- I gave feedback based on experience with this SPECIFIC topic --- you just annoyed the f*uck out of me!

and to clear up your foolishness - there is no difference between a ISOBuster or a VCDGear bin/cue extraction -- NONE ... except VCDGear give you more advanced options to process the output!

I have successfully done all 3 discs for Spiderman and they work.
    You need the following:
    DVD2AVI, Tmpgenc, VFAPI Plugin

Step 1 - Launch DVD2AVI. Select "File" and "Open". View all files if Spiderman is an MPG. It will produce a list of files. (Only do 1 at a time!!). Select "Audio" and "Track1". Select "File" and "Save Project". This will not convert but will create a d2v and mpa file for next step.

Step 2 - Launch TMPGenc. Cancel wizard!!! Select video source and open d2v file. Select audio and choose mpa file. Select load and choose "VideoCD (PAL)". Select settings and choose "High quality" for great quality. (You will not regret it, but it is time consuming).
    Hit encode.

Do one file at a time because otherwise it will just make one file and will knock all the sound out of sync.

    This works and looks great!!!!

  9. @dingle1972: good deal ! glad to see it worked out for you

just any FYI from an OLD TMPGEnc user -- I can honestly say I see no difference between "high", "highest" or "normal" quality on files such as the spiderman SVCD's (which are 'workprints' -- ie: lower quality picture than a true SVCD) -- there is a difference if your source is DVD or something equally as good but not on files such as the spiderman SVCD's

I'm converting the "Unfaithful" 3 SVCD set right now on "normal" -- strangely enough I did disk 1 on "high" and disk 2 on "normal" just last night (disk 3 is going right now) ... it had no effect on quality.

I'm doing the files directly in TMPGEnc (skipping the DVD2AVI step)

long thread about converting that set of Spiderman yesterday here for anyone else who needs help: http://forum.vcdhelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=92659&highlight=
