  1. It seems REALLY EASY to use and has many optional formats to capture in. I have been using it and doing the DV-AVI 25mbps.

    I have found that capturing a 45min DV video makes a 20 GIG AVI. Does this sound bout right? I thouht it was HI for DV to AVI.

    hmm
    any one else using this program.

    XP Movie Maker - in a word - JUNK

    Max res. In "Hi Quality" of all things is 320*240 - You are much better off using VirtualDub (requires a Dv codec to import)

    Somebody else has opinions ..

    DV = approx 3.7 Mb/sec = 222 Mb a minute = just under 10 Gigs for 45 minutes

    Your numbers are off.

  4. For pure 'capture' of DV, Windows XP movie maker works fine. Just select the relevant format (NTSC or PAL DV) and hit go. This is not a capture in the normal sense, but a copy of digital data from your tape to your HD.

    But holistic is right with the numbers and file sizes tho, you must be selecting the wrong format.
