Over the last several months I have bought a dozen original vcds. The picture and audio quality are pretty good but I would stop short of saying great. I view these on my computer, my Sampo DVE-620 and my Toshiba SD-3205.
My question is: Would a standalone vcd player provide superior play to that of my dvd players(or my computer)?
Another question : Does the fact that these vcds are suppose to be PAL make the quality less than great?
My TV is NTSC as well as my Toshiba but my Sampo is suppose to have a PAL converter and there is no difference that I can see. I bring this up because I have a Region 2 Dune dvd that I can play on my Sampo when I change the region. The problem is that it looks similar to vcd quality and I was wondering if that was because my TV(Proscan) was NTSC.
Which brings me to my next question: If the NTSC TV and/or dvd players cause the problem, why would they be able to be played at all?
Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.
