My Pioneer DVR-104 is on the way, what software and media?

Any recommendations? What software would be good to get, and are they good free alternatives for programs that will transfer 5.1 audio and such?

Your gonna want a copy of Ifo edit and a copy of smart ripper... personally I use NERO to burn (not free on the NERO) but other software works well also.

As far as media it seems to depend alot of your settop player... I use Esbuy.com media, apple media, smartdisk media, and the more expensive stuff... the esbuy is the cheapest I've gotten to work well... but then some peoples players seem to support even the super cheap under 2 dollar stuff.

You'll see my media reports last update... if you keep a lookout in the forum I update as I try new stuff.... but remember it very much depends on the set top player your using.
