  1. hi i am a noob in desperate need of help! i have a trv - vtr320 digital 8 camcorder. i made a new computer along with a new firewire card to make it work. now with premiere 6.0 i expected it to be as simple as 1,2,3 but that's not the case for me. i struggled with this thing for a week so i covered all the ground as far as basics are concerned like secure wiring, camcorder settings etc.
now when i try to capture anything, from the computer i can control the buttons like play, forward, stop. when it's playing, i get no picture and sound, and the buttons on the screen switches from play to stop back and forth, and the clock on the bottom goes on and off. and when i press record try to capture, it says device is not connected and it freezes up, sometimes even crashes my computer. i am going to try buy a new cable to check to see if that is the problem, which will cost me more than the card itself, but i don't know how it is possible to be able to control the buttons but can't record anything. this is freaking me out, i've done everythign i humanly can, now i'm begging for your help. ... HELP!!!!!

one simple question. is there any way i can digtize tapes on HI 8 setting with a firewire card and certain software?
