anyone figure a hack on this dvd player? HOw is this player? I heard it is better than the sony dvpn513.

The panasonic RV-61K is a even better player than the 31, matter of fact I have not been able to find a better picture than the 61k can produce, its has the most advanced chips in it at this time, just came out in March. It will even play Dolby Digital CD's, not SCCD or DTS. Has a built in 5.1 decoder and can handle audio up to 192mhz and a video chip that handles 54mhz not your normal 10 bit or 27 bit either, has all kinds of picture adjustments also, plays DVD-Rs perfect also.

THXKID, do you know if the RV-61k VCD's, SVCD's, and XVCD's? and if it plays them, will it still play them with that great picture quality that you were talking about when it plays DVD's? also, are there any hacks at this time that allow region free play, and also allow macrovision?

because as of now, my DVD player options are: the pioneer 444, the panasonic RV-31/61, and an undecided toshiba model that has similar abilities to the old Toshiba SD-220E. my choices are being based on picture quality when playing all types of video, including VCD, SVCD, and XVCD. and it MUST be able to play VCD's, SVCD's, and XVCD's, and it MUST be able to play them well. region free play and macrovision are added bonuses if they're included.
