I'm attempting to convert video from my new Sony MicroMV camcorder to DVD compliant MPG format. I was successful in using Xmuxer to convert the .MMV files (MPG TS) into standard .MPG format, however these files have a bitrate of 12mbps CBR, which is too high for DVD.
Next, I tried to convert them using TMPGEnc to 7mbps VBR. The conversion ran successfully, however the resulting video has some artifacts that were not present in the source file.
In particular, the video appears to "skip" every 1/2 second or so. This is most apparent on panning shots, the motion is not fluid, every 1/2 second the picture jumps.
I checked the field order as well as all the other settings. Everything appears to be correct.
Any ideas of what could be causing this problem are appreciated.
Thanks,
Tomasz
