  1. I have a couple of questions about converting Divx to SVCD. I'm using Tmpgenc.

The first thing I would like to know is if there is any way to tell how large a MPG file will be after it is converted. Several times I've misjudged the amount of data to convert and ended up with a MPG too large to fit on an 80 min CD. Three and a half hours down the drain!

The second question I have concerns bitrate. If I need to trim a few megabytes off of a file to fit it on a CD can I change the bitrate down? Besides a lower quality MPG, what else should I look out for?

Thanks for your help. Hopefully these are not pre-newbie questions.

to tell the final size use a bitrate calculator.
if you need the film smaller you either re encode at lower bitrate or you could cut away a little bit (begining or end probibly )

You can click the dots in my sign, hopefully you find something useful
