can't cap to 640x480 in Vdub with XP

just installed WinXP and all the drivers/codecs for my new os.

got WINXP
WINTV
VirtualDub (latest version just d/l from site yesterday)

capturing codecs
Huff 2.1.1
PCM audio CD quality

I can cap in 352x240 with no problem.
for some reason I can' use any higher resoultion to capture.

vdub keep saying "format unsupported"
in the capture resoulution setting.

anyone had this problem or suggestions

I also have this problem with win xp pro. I tried a tweaked driver but with that my system crashed all the time but capturing to 720 * 576 was possible.

Most capture drivers can handle 352x240 but not anything higher if using overlay mode. Try changing to "preview" mode in virtualdub and give it a shot. It may not look right but it should still grab all the frames.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
