I’ve decided to make the Ozivine and Eurovine repositories private and step away from this forum.

I put a lot of time and effort into building and sharing these tools because I wanted to contribute something useful to the forum. Unfortunately the lack of basic appreciation from most people has taken all the enjoyment out of it. Thanks to those who were supportive and constructive. I appreciated that. But overall, I’m done here and won’t be returning.

I'm gobsmacked billyb. You're contributions have been a wonderful godsend to us and I give you oodles of appreciation, as I'm sure do many other members. This really is devastating news. Please don't go

  3. I hope you know I appreciate your programs billybanana. Thank you for all the work you put in to them. I hope you come back. It is easy to take people for granted and I have been guilty of that myself at times. I will get what I can with your programs as long as they work and will miss them when they no longer function. Once again thank you and your programs are wonderful; I am sorry you didn't get the appreciation you deserve.

  4. I for one appreciate time and effort you have put in. Thanks you very much.
I know the world is not always a friendly place.
Can I also chime in and say please stay?

    Peace.

You certainly have a right to step away @billybanana but you and your contributions will be missed immensely.

Waking up and seeing this news in here and in Ozivine thread is terrible news. Understandable on your part, just sad for the forum community for sure!

Everlasting thank you from me for all you shared, helped with, and posted in general!

  7. billybanana you contributed a lot to this forum. I am sorry that most people did not make the effort to say thank you for your efforts for making these terrific programs. Life is like that a lot of times and just about everyone is guilty of that a times; myself included. So once again thank you and take care. I am quite certain with your skills you will continue to evolve your programs and that is a worthy endeavour for you to continue pursuing for your own benefit. I find it is very easy for skills to atrophy when you don't keep plugging away.

Thank you to the Angela and imSparky for all that you do and please know you are appreciated and your programs are terrific as well. Also stabbedbybrick thank you for all that you have done over the years and your Freevine was wonderful and of course your work on the services.

  8. Is there a way via Eurovine when it comes to BBC videos to just export the subtitle file without the video and audio. That would be useful for me for videos that I have previously downloaded with YT-DLP Interface. I could just mux the subtitles into those files. Thank you in advance for this information.

Hi Billy, I'm sorry to hear you're stepping away, I would definitely feel the same if people didn't appreciate the help, I just wanted to say thank you for the time your took to fix my problem with an iP bug I found but your update worked brilliantly.

    Cheers Billy.

    @BBanana Understandable.

I walked away for a while too. A slow drip of people asking for little seemingly inconsequential changes to one's code, that are quick to demand but take ages to deliver, grind you down

And you just know that as soon as a CDN changes something - the code you worked so long on will stop working and all your followers will be looking to you to correct it. There is a tremendous dependency built up. Naively, in my earlier days I thought people would learn to code like you and I did. But they don't and they won't. I take a harder line days I post what I use and little more.

You chose to script something the way you did for a reason but everyone else wants it tailored to them - me included I guess - sorry! What was fun - coding something and finally getting a CDN to return a video - soon becomes a chore when you have constant demands on your time. Step away, relax for while, enjoy your coming Spring and perhaps come back next Winter?

PS What is with you Ozzies and bananas? I watch an Ozzie YouTuber who measures inches but calls them bananas??!

By now Tom, you and everyone else should be able to work some things out for yourself. Almost all scripts will give help, if you ask!

    python eurovine.py --help gives this:-

Ooh look the highlighted line says if you use -a you can make N_m3u8DL_RE stop to allow the selection of streams to download. That couldn't be all you need, could it?

It hasn't been nuked, the author has made it private.

If you could be bothered to actually read back just a few posts you would have seen Post #61

  15. Yeah I did see it, that’s why I am asking?

  16. Would it also be able to ask for an archive? Shame to see billy walk away, but I understand and I'm also sorry if I didn't express enough gratefulness for the work he did.

Best I can provide you for this request if you had not gone this route already:

    Wayback Machine

Ill leave this post, but link above after I dug further does NOT have really anything useful.

I know I miss Billy and his work!

  18. After Eurovine not Ozivine. Was really just after the services so I can convert them into something unshackle would recognise.
