Verifying TV Episodes from DVD Correctly

I use paid software (the name shouldn't matter for this discussion) to rip dvd's of tv shows, so usually each season will come on several discs.

My software automatically decrypts the dvd's and lists all titles on the disc. This is usually a lot more than the main episodes, and includes trailers, ads, etc.

I usually just select all of the actual episodes for ripping based upon the length (usually around 30-45 mins) and let it go. It conveniently names them Showname_Disc#_Title#, and often they're all correct and so I simply use Bulk Renamer to correct up the name to "Show S01E01" and so on and then Plex does the rest.

The issue (my question) is that sometimes things are not in the correct order or there are other episodes within the discs that throw everything off. For example, the three Chicago series (Fire, Med & PD) have several crossover episodes which are included within the other shows dvd's, so a season of Chicago PD will include some episodes from both Med and Fire, and also they will occasionally even throw in a few Law & Order episodes too when they help out. Sometimes these other episodes are bonuses at the end, and other times they're thrown right in with the rest in their respective locations within the main epsides.

Is there an easy and fool-proof way to quickly check every episode and verify which it is so I can make sure to get them all correctly named? I've tried using imdb and thetvdb, but they simply give me the episode titles, and unlike STTNG that very conveniently displayed the name of every episode directly proceeding the intro, modern episodes do not. I've even tried using the cast to try to identify new actors specific to each episode, but that is difficult and time consuming.

Has anyone come up with a clever solution or is there perhaps some tool or database out there already that I can use?
