  1. Ok I think I have finaly got the hang of this encoding thing now.

I did my first film Ali G in SVCD fine onto 2 disks !

Ok my problem is like this, I went to do my next film using the exact settings. Once burn't up It plays fine and the audio is in sync. But the video is not smooth is is almost as thought there is a frame missing out of every second of video, I have tried diffrent films and they still come out the same.

I have also tried a fresh copy of TMPGE.

I thought it was nero at first because I upgraded, but I have just upgraded again to the latest verion and it is still doing it !!!

    Anyone got any ideas ??

    Cheers

  3. Ok the Divx file has a Frame rate of 23 Frames per second & Bit rate of 199Kbps.

All I can see for the SVCD file is a Bit Rate of 224Kbps,

How can I find out the Frame rate of an SVCD file ??

    Anything look strange to anyone

    Cheers

    23 fps isn't a framerate that's usable when makin a VCD/SVCD. (Most likely it's 23.976)

Anyway what settings did you use when encoding? That's the framerate that your SVCD has. You can check it in TMpgEnc by opening MPegTools and demulitiplex. Select your SVCD and you'll get info about the audio and video streams...

Yes, the TMPG filter duplicates the frames, that's why the playback isn't smooth. You may consider to speed up the movie from 23 to 25 fps.
