  1. Hi,

Is there a limit for how many photos you can have in a slide show?

Or how long a slide show can be as far as running time?

    I'm using Roxio Vpack 5

    Thanks,
    Peter

  2. Depends on what software you use. With the likes of Nero,WinOncd etc you are limited to 99 photo's per album and with some of them you cant even add a soundtrack or transitions. I have used every programme available to make Slideshows or Photo Albums and the best two in my opinion are Sonic Foundry's Vegas or Video Factory both produce very professional results and neither have any limitations. Hope this helps you.

  3. In terms of quality i strongly recommend Ulead DVD Pictureshow.
In VCD mode the limit is 1900 images. In DVD mode the limit is 99 slideshows with 99 images each. The quality is fatanstic. This is because DVD Pictureshow doesn't convert images to MPEG but stores them as MPEG stills (704x576 for PAL, 704x480 for NTSC). You can aslo add music to your slideshows.
Programs such as Sonic Foundry's Vegas or Video Factory are great video editing tools but they will convert your slideshows to MPEG before you burn them to VCD which will result in loss of quality.

  4. Thanks for the reply.

What I'm trying to accomplish is a vcd that will play a slide show of about 400 photos and also about 30 mpgs all taken with a digital camera.

I've already done test cd's with a few pics and videos and it burns without any problems and plays on my jvc dvd player.

Now that I tried the entire layout with all the pics and videos I get an error, something about track 1 ( and track 1 is where all my photos are)

I'm using Video Pack 5 to create the VCD layout and then it has an option to Creat VCD. It encodes all the videos and tries to burn and within seconds I get the error.

Am I doing something wrong? Or should I use Vpack5 for the layout and another program to burn the image?

Thanks sorry for all the question, I'm new at this and I haven'y found a good tutorial for VP5.

If possible, could you post step by step instruction on how to create a photo album with Vega Video 3.0 ?

    Thanks
