    In DaVinci Resolve I've imported a .mp4 with channel layout 5.1 L R C LFE Ls Rs verified in MediaInfo . But in Resolve it's recognized as 5.1Film and the mapping is L C R Ls Rs LFE.

    The problem is that if I change the audio format in the clip attributes to 5.1, the channels are not mapped correctly because the C and LFE are in the wrong position, the channel order does no change place on format change, so the C waveform is always the 2nd channel and LFE 6th.

    How ca nI make Resolve parse the file correctly or should I remap the channels manually?

    channel 1 - L
    channel 3 - R
    channel 2 - C
    channel 6 - LFE
    channnel 4 - Ls
    channel 5 - Rs

    I had this same problem with 5.1 m2ts files from my Panasonic camera.
    The audio is imported as six mono channels with incorrect channel mapping.
    The solution:
    After the video clips are imported to the Media Pool, select all the clips, right-click and select Clip Attributes...
    In the Audio tab:
    - Change Format to 5.1, Tracks to 1, click Add
    - Delete the Mono tracks (click rubbish bin that appears when you mouse over each channel)
    - Re-assign each Source Channel in the new 5.1 format to the correct mapping by clicking the down arrow on each Embedded Channel:
    Left = Embedded Channel 1
    Right = Embedded Channel 3
    Center = Embedded Channel 2
    LFE = Embedded Channel 6
    Left Surround = Embedded Channel 4
    Right Surround = Embedded Channel 5

    Do this before dragging clips to the timeline.

    Hope this helps.
