    (Not trying to sound like a repost or anything but since it's more like a Restoration, and not Newbie thread, I decided to post here.)

    I was trying to restore episodes of my favorite anime series, until I saw blurry text that showed up on the screen, and I really want to remove the blur, because this is the only copy of the airing I can find that has the text.

    Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think this is possible to the remove blur, but it's best trying anyways.
    If anyone can help me out here, please, and thank you.

    (NOTE: The file is a bit glitchy on VLC and VitrualDub2, but when encoding on AviSynth, or VapourSynth, it's completely fine, I promise)

  3. He uploaded the attachment the wrong way. But you can still download it by right clicking on the link and selecting Save Link As. You'll get a transport stream file.

  5. => aside from:
    a. using inpainting, with a dynamic mask, (i.e. InpaintDelogo, ProPainter or inpainting in some NLE)
    b. replace the text with text from another clip
    c. using some generative ai
    I don't think you can remove the blur from the text

    How can I use this method to unblur the text?, I've never used this script for AviSynth/VapourSynth

  7. Inpainting will not unblur the text. It will fill the area with pixels interpolated from the area around it.

  8. Yes, aside from some generative ai which will have to know the text beforehand there is no way of un-blurring and the too wouldn't un-blur, but re-imagine.

  9. Yes, there are some really funny results that I've seen where AI "re-imagines" the text based on whatever hints were present in the training material. The good news is that you get beautiful text. The bad news is that most of it is completely wrong.
