  1. I am seeking paid workflows for upscaling and restoring a classic TV series titled “Jia You Er Nv”.

Currently, I use a workflow that yields decent results, but it involves some manual steps, which makes it difficult to scale across the full series. I am looking for a solution that can be fully automated—even if the restoration quality is comparable to my current output, that would be perfectly acceptable.

If you are interested, please try processing the two sample clips below:

A short clip (about 20 seconds)

    A longer clip (10 minutes)

Once completed, kindly share your test results with me (output resolution: 2880x2160). If the quality meets my expectations and the workflow is automatable, I would be happy to pay for your solution—price is negotiable.

  2. Other than the over-sharpening that someone already applied, the short clip looks fine to me. What are you trying to "improve?"

  3. For the fun of it, I looked at what DetailSharpen+DeHalo+NNEDI3 would do to the short sample.
(personally I would try to remove the hardcoded subtitles,...)

similar restoration quality but an automated processing workflow.

Care to share those steps. (curious of what created the extra details)

  6. FWIW, basic sharpening, if properly applied, can provide the illusion of extra detail. Here is an example of a frame from a film restoration I did sixteen years ago. The AVISynth script had nothing to do with upscaling, or super resolution, or AI. It was simply noise reduction and sharpening. Click on the link to see the before/after.

    Front Porch Detail Improvement

Pay particular attention to the vertical posts on the porch railing.

Here is the page in a VERY long thread about film restoration where I posted this result:

The power of Avisynth: restoring old 8mm films.

  7. Sure, but the detail gain of the teeth is not from conventional filtering.

Thanks for your try, but it didn't meet my expectation.

  10. seedvr2, ah okay a diffusion-tranformer that explains the details.
Haven't seen an automated process for using diffusion-tranformers in open source tools.
Wish you luck. (personally those transformers are usually simply too ressource hungry for me to use. )
