I'm trying to export a .flac as 3.1 L R C LFE but real 3.1 it is not supported by the format as ffmpeg says. I tried using 4 channels but the final result has wrong mapping and the audio plays like it comes from another room.

The wav comes from a 5.1 mov with 3.1 audio exported from Premiere. I removed with ffmpeg the unused channels to make it proper 3.1 and exported the audio to .wav.

How can I map the audio to the .flac format?

    Thanks

  2. There is no problem with the flac channels mapping.
It's identical to the wav mapping.

That's strange, but If I open them in VLC, the .wav plays fine, the .flac does not. Have you tried?

Tested. Here with me, the VLC player plays both files exactly the same.

I'm on a mac laptop, it's almost as if it's not playing the Center channel. What could it be then? If I open the file with preview they both play the same, but in VLC the .flac one does not.

Maybe you should update/reinstall the VLC player.
Here, on Windows, I'm at version 3.0.23 Vetinari.

Check also if the hardware acceleration is disabled.
