1)Go to this URL
https://media.nws.edu/browse
[There is no need to sign up]


2) right click on any stream of interest




3) copy link address [The url is now stored on the Windows's Clipboard]


for example

OR the one required by the operator

4) With the URL now stored on the Clipboard, double click the program [nws_downloader.exe] Icon


The stream will be downloaded and saved in the Windows Download directory.

I know the request has been fulfilled, thanks to you and Gromyko for his amazing program. However, for learning purposes, I’d like to know how you obtained the M3U8 URL. I tried checking the Network tab, but I only found a JSON URL. I also used M3U8 sniffers, but I couldn’t capture anything. If you could share the method you used, I’d be grateful. Alternatively, if any other members know how to obtain the M3U8 URL, that would be very helpful

If you want, with Tampermonkey you can detect and decode m3u8 URLs. To simplify things, add a command with N_M3U8DL-RE.

Here is a command to decode the characters: ?, =, &, / etc. in JavaScript

decodeURIComponent(url)

Here is a command to decode the characters: ?, =, &, / etc in Python

s = "\\u0026"
decoded = s.encode("utf-8").decode("unicode_escape")
print(decoded)  # &

Hello Giampi,

I mean, in the URL of the site you provided, your M3U8 link is encoded with Unicode characters to simplify things. To get the M3U8 URL decoded and avoid using Notepad to replace \u0026 with &, you can directly use the M3U8 detector with URL decoder to simplify the process. There's even an integrated command with N_M3U8DL-RE to download the video of your choice.

As you can see from the website https://www.arte.tv in the previous discussion, you can create an m3u8 detector from tampermonkey to simplify things.
