  1. I searched the forum but could not find an explanation for my problem.
I rip a DVD with three short videoclips using CLADDVD (smartripper has problems with the DVD searching for the key).
Next I used DVD2AVI to create d2v and mpa files. The name of the mpa file is rather strange for me: NNN delay-80ms.mpa
Next I used TMPGENC2.54a to encode, and I used the mpa file for the audio. When playing the result all is OK except that from the beginning the audio is loosing a small fraction at a particular frequency and constantly throughout the clip.
When playing the mpa file by itself the audio is OK.
I have played with the source range in TMPGENC gap correction but to no avail.
    What is the Delay thing?
Does anybody have a clue what I can do?

I have not tried to convert the mpa into wav, which I will do tonight.

    Many thanks

  2. I tried all kinds of suggestions, like ripping saperately the audio with V2OB: it made the problem worse.
I then converted the mpa file to a mp3 file using BESWEET and now the problem of audio hitches is solved.

I have one question though: why do I get this behaviour from smartripper: After starting ripping the program searches for the key some time, then gives me a msg: QUIT RIPPING? When I choose YES he rips anyway and the result is apparently OK.

Is there a setting I overlooked?

    Many thanks for any suggestion.

no disreguard for smartripper as i find i works well for me, it obviously does not for you, try ripping with dvdcrypter instead? it cant do any harm to gauge two programs against each other. if you still get the same sort of problems then you will know, maybe something else isnt qute right in your setup
    hopr this helps

  4. Does this happen on every DVD with SmartRipper, or just one in particular? Just curious, because I use SmartRipper and have never had this problem you mentioned.
