Hello,
I got into the DRC (Dynamic Range Compression) a few weeks ago.
I found out, that in VLC, even if you turned of the "dynamic range compression" in the settings, the DRC is still ON.
I changed to MPC-HC , because this player works fine.Code:1. Start up VLC. 2. Click Tools, then Preferences. 3. At the bottom of the Preferences screen, click All. 4. In the left list, click Input/Codecs, Audio codecs, then A/52. 5. Uncheck A/52 dynamic range compression.
Now I'm thinking, when was this bug "implemented".
I downloaded the latest VLC Version 2 (2.2.8 from November 2017) and open the settings.
The DRC is OFF by default, and yes, it is OFF.
Then tryed the first 3.0
The DRC default setting is also OFF, but it's clearly ON.
So this bug exists almost 8 years now, and nobody discovered it.
lol
Maybe someone can report that to the team?
I wanted to register on their forum, but I get a stupid message "It looks like you have been flagged as a spammer." and I don't want to waste more time to figure out why...
Cheers
