  2. Why a new thread?
~45min for ~2 1/2 min clip, so for a 90min movie, it would take ~54hours.
I don't want to think about the electricity bill,...

Is it only good with DVD quality content?

  9. Has anyone determined whether there is any visual improvement by going to 3840x2160 rather than 1920x1080? I'll bet there isn't any difference other than time. It seems ridiculous to take a 480x360 source and upres to such an absurdly high pixel count.

Ive found when I Use it, names on a desk in a game show will come out all AI 'wrong' like they are perfectky readable in SD but in HD its invented letters that don't exist!. But ive only used basic settings and dont own a Nivida GPU so some models are beyond me

Wow, I hadn't bothered to download and then zoom in on the image before. That's really amazing!

The good news is that it absolutely confirms that AI is actually being used; no ordinary sharpening would create the wrong letters. The bad news is that those who hope that AI will help them read license plates from their cheap dashcams or really cheap Ring/Nest/Arlo security cams will once again be disappointed. It could actually cause them to attempt to prosecute the wrong person.

Hopefully whatever AI technology is being used, and whatever data set is being used to train it, will be improved, and will create the correct letters so that in the future it will correctly spell "Taxifornia."

It distorts other things too, but it's not noticeable. That's why I've given up on upscaling for now. It'll improve 90-99% of the image, and ruin 1-10%.

There's a project that does this very well, much better than Topaz. I don't remember the name, but maybe someone remember.
