I noticed that on Channel 4's The Good Doctor when it comes to S01E01 the audio for the video seems a bit fast not chipmunk fast thankfully. I also noticed this when it comes to the Person of Interest episodes from 7 Plus. I am not blaming Devine or Ozivine. Is it just me noticing this and it makes me think that I shouldn't bothering downloading any additional episodes of those shows.

Do you have a theory? Is the TV channel speeding it up so they can fit in more commercials?
According to the IMDB the episodes run time should be 45 minutes -
I sat down and watch an episode to delve into it more. The audio is definitely noticeably faster in certain scenes and other scenes is normal. I suspect getting more commercials is the reason. But the picture quality is better than what I had previously and I can live with the audio this way. They probably speed the video up this slight bit as well or the sync would be off. Now that I know from watching an episode it isn't so aggravating it may be worth the time to go to the effort of getting more. I am a big "Person of Interest" fan and I root for them to do a spinoff some day. This being said that old Decima Agent; I don't know if I have ever hated a character as much as him. I think someday I am going to buy the complete series on Blu Ray; at least I want to funds permitting.
I have noticed other editing for time things in videos such as speeding up the end credits so fast that you have to pause them to read them and even then its a bit dicey.
Thank you both for your input. I suppose I am curious as why and how they did this.Last edited by Tom Saurus; 5th Aug 2025 at 18:48.

Watch the faces for abnormal eye blinks. This is usually the quickest giveaway that time compression has been employed.

Thank you to all the posters for their input. Sometimes there are characters who are fast talkers. My Mom and I were just watching some episodes of "The Six Million Dollar Man" and Steve Austin talks fast. But he is bionic and his batteries are probably kept fully charged most of the time.
