Like the thread's title says, I'm unable to play back DVD ISO files on my NVIDIA Shield TV Pro. I had previously asked on Reddit and users there said that the device does not support DVD ISOs natively, but will if you install an app like VLC or Kodi. Several people confirmed VLC and Kodi will play DVD ISOs without a problem, menues and all.
Well, that turned out to not be the case for me.

I installed both those apps, but it still won't play my ISO files. VLC does show previews of the IDVDs menues, but once I select the ISO to play it, I am granted a black screen and nothing further happens until I hit the back button to return to the VLC interface.
I did try remuxing some ISOs using MakeMKV (without converting the video, just remuxing it to MKV), and those play just fine. So the issue is not VLC having a problem with Mpeg2 streams, it just won't play ISO files.
Kodi doesn't even recognize files with an .iso extension, it won't even show them. The DVDRemux files play fine though.
I don't want to remux my entire ISO collection, plus I want to be able to access the full menues and stuff.
What do I need to do to get it to work?

The exact model of my NVIDIA Shield TV is P2897 and I am playing the files on a USB stick. I don't stream anything.
