    Hi Guys,

I hope someone can help!? I have been tasked with downloading/screen recording some online videos for someone, who needs the content burned to a DVD. The problem I am facing is that the source content varies in FPS (I assume?)... some are 30fps, some 60fps etc... ultimately the problem I'm running into is that when I try encoding them with Handbrake/DaVinci (free)/Topaz Video AI to the required 25fps required for UK DVDs, I'm getting stuttery videos/frame dropping. I understand and appreciate that the conversion is going to ultimately drop frames, but can you help advise me on how I can do it to ensure I get a buttery smooth 25fps video file after encoding the videos down... is it possible? I've tried downloading the videos, as well as screen recording with OBS but once I encode any video to 25fps the problem arises.

My current available programs are DaVinci (free), Handbrake, OBS, Topaz Video AI.

Maybe I'm capturing wrong in OBS, but if I capture a 60fps video at 25fps in OBS i get stutter... If I screen record at native speed and encode I get stutter... Can anyone help me figure this one out? Thanks in advance guys!

  2. It would be better if you could download and not record the video with OBS and then work on the downloaded video, then analyzing the downloaded video you can either do a Telecine and bring it up to 23,967 FPS or do a BOB and double the FPS, this depends on whether the video will have fixed or variable FPS. You do this mainly to remove the interlacing and after that you bring it up to 25 FPS on the DVD

I don't know if you'll be able to do it with Handbrake, you need a program that can work with avisynth like megui or staxrip, anyway you first think about seeing if you can download the video and maybe pass a piece of it here if you can
