  1. Is it worth it to get Dual Layer Blu-rays for anything other than data backups. They seem more expensive per disc than Single Layer, even with cheap media which likely will rot in a few years.

  2. For larger video files, especially high-bitrate 4K rips, lossless audio, or longer movies that push past 25GB, dual layer might be "worth it."

  3. The disc quality of 50GB discs has worsened dramatically and most likely you will have issues at the layer break. If you still want to burn these use a Pioneer drive and follow this guide.

    However, I suggest to use a media player and play these files from HDD.
