This is DS9 S02E01 "The Homecoming." There's some kind of issue with the interlacing that's causing stars to look like "+" and some of the more heavily rainbowed areas to look ugly with the 3D comb filter. Any ideas on how this problem might be reversed?
These images are brightened to make the issue more visible.

deblock before denoise, use a better upscaler,... use Vapoursynth or Avisynth for more control
share a smaple of the source if you need an example/suggestion
(aren't the version streamed by amazon&co better?)
