The program is worth having in one's downloader toolbox, is arguably better than JDownloader (IMO), has a built-in torrent client . . . although not one that I've really used. You'd need to Nix some checkboxes in Settings to tone down its overly aggressive grabby behavior. Not much else in the way of downsides. The SoS site is one I get at least a few items from every year. They will want to get you onto their mailing list, but you can dodge that, or give them a throwaway or bogus one, if that's any concern.

Just installed this, with but hours left to go on that offer. It is replacing an outdated 2021 version, this time with fresh config settings that I hope will end its wanting to grab every magnet link that I only wanted to record for later consideration. Mind those settings checkboxes ! Browser integration is something that can be done later, at any time, and remains optional.

I try to keep tabs on those 3 sites -- GiveAwayoftheDay (but items posted there last ONLY for 1 day !), SharewareOnSale (some items posted may be available for as much as 5 - 7 days, much better policy IMO), and BitsDuJour. Things like Ant DL Mgr. and the rather good Allavsoft downloader can turn up at any of them a couple times per year or so. SOS allows user comments, which can be very helpful. I hope that BDJ is still online, as it wasn't answering a few days ago.
