I have dvd2svcd v.1.0.9b1 and smartriper v.2.41
The problem is that both these programs crash during the same stage, when the dvd is being scanned and unlocked or something. If i launch smartripper with a movie in my DVD-drive in chechs some files and then stops and i have to reboot.
Almost the same happens with dvd2svcd, hven i try to load the .ifo file a small window named "information" pops up and i freezes, and i have to reboot.
This happens with atleast two different movies, i haven't bothered trying any more since i was tired of having to reboot all the time.
It is a compaq DVD-113R old and not very good, but i have no money for a new one.
Thank you![]()

1) clean the bottom of the DVD disc...make sure there are no dust, dirt, scratches, etc.. (especially if you have old dvd-rom)
2) make sure you play the dvd in software dvd player like powerDVD/winDVD first to unlock the drive (sometimes it helps if you pause powerDVD/winDVD while playing the movie and then start using smartripper, rather than completely closing powerDVD/winDVD after you played it)
3) dvd-roms are getting really cheap...dell.com small business has 16x lite-on dvd-rom for around $37 shipped right now
