  1. i wonder if anyone has an answer for this teaser. i have succesfully ripped a movie with smartripper V2.41, but when i play it back through my pc i get multicoloured blocks on the picture (mostley green). i get the impression its some sort of coding problem when ripping the dvd.does anyone know of a solution to this? i've looked at the settings in smartripper but their doesn't seem to be any sort of option to rectify it. TIA.

  3. I have had similar problem with SmartRipper 2.41....

Have you tried cleaning the DVD.
This helps some of the time.

The problem seems to occur when the DVD is
using dual layers ie... more that 4.7GB is on one side.

I notice SmartRipper slows down a lot when it gets to 2nd
    layer.

This may also mean that my DVDROM drive has difficulty
    reading the second layer.

  5. its quite possible that its a video card/driver or codec problem too, maybe u should try burning to dvd-rw and seeing how it plays back in ur dvd player

  6. so, did you mean u get green blocks when playing your (S)VCD or playing the ripped vobs directly?

    if it's a problem w/ your (S)VCD:

    1) make sure u burn no faster than 4x

    2) could be the media or that particular cd-r...happens to me sometimes when using cheapo, generic cd-rs (anything made in taiwan basically, even if it's being sold by a "brand" name)

    3) could be your dvd player not able to play the cd-r media u have

if it's a problem with playing the vobs:

green blocks could mean that the dvd wasn't ripped very well...
