First you have to figure out which subtitle format you have. Many subtitle tools use the .sub extension. If you are unsure, please post the lines 1-13 here. Short said, you can convert every subtitle format to SVCD subs. And...are you sure, that your dvd player support selectable subtitles?

  4. These are the subs (the 1-13 lines) I want to put in the SVCD:

    {1342}{1434}SOMALIA - ESTE DE AFRICA|1992.
{1524}{1604}Años de guerra entre clanes rivales
    {1605}{1679}causa hambre a escalas bíblicas

And I want to make a test for my Pioneer DV-343, cause I've found somewhere that it plays all you put in it, but in the manual doesn't say a word of it...

These subtitles are in Micro DVD player format.
First off I suggest to download a test SVCD image to test whether your player support svcd subs.
    http://www.vcdimager.org/pub/vcdimager/examples/test_svcd/

First step is to convert the *.sub to *.ssa. You can do that with subResync, a tool, that comes with VobSub. Simply open the .sub and save as .ssa.

2nd step is to convert the *.ssa to a series of .bmp pics. Download MaestroSBT. Open the *.ssa, select output script Submux(*.sub), convert.

You have finished the video and audio conversion and multiplexed to a SVCD compliant MPEG alreaddy.

Then multiplex the subtitles to the MPEG. Download WinSubMux. Open the MPEG file, select an output file name and select the submux script as first subtitle stream. Multiplex.

Last step: SVCD authoring. I am not sure whether you can use any burning software, so I recommend to use VCDImager 0.7.12, e.g. with the VCDeasy GUI or TSCV GUI (check the tool section).

  6. Thx Truman for your detailed explanation, today I'm gonna make a test SVCD to see if it works on my player, I'll tell you later...
But returning to the subs, once I mux them with the mpg, will they still be selectables ? Or they will always be ON ??

This is a way to add selectable subtitles. With winsubmux you can mux up to 4 sub streams to the MPEG.

  8. When SubMux is multiplexing,
stream #0 image too large ()encoded size > 64 k); skipping line: 16
that message a lot of times...
    What happened ????

According to the Winsubmux documentation the subtitle image format must be in "Windows Bitmap 16 color (4bit) or 256 color (8bit)" format. Then you will end with 3-20 KB .bmp.
WinSubMux seem to skip images, that are larger than 64KB. In MaestroSBT press "rendering" and select a different bitmap format.
