I'm wondering if someone can help me with an annoying problem I have been trying to fix over the last few weeks.

What I am trying to do is split a 94 minute AVI video file into 2 parts and burn them onto CD-R's to play on my standalone DVD player. I've tried using VirtualDub to cut the film, and then use Nero 5.5.4 to burn the 2 clips onto separate CD-Rs. What happens is that there is no picture when I try playing the Cd-R on my DVD player, but there is sound. I have also tried using TMPGEnc to cut the clips into 3 parts, convert them to MPEG2 files and Nero 5.5.4 to burn them onto CD-R's as SVCD's. The same problem occurs, as there is no picture when trying to play the discs on my DVD player. I have also tried to use AVI2MPG2 to cut the clips, but was unsuccesful. The clips each play fine on my computer using the newest version of windows media player with video and sound. My DVD player is an APEX AD 1500, and plays music video compliation VCDs I have made in the past, with no problems at all. It is compliant to play VCDs. For some reason, the picture just will not show up when I try to play this movie.

I would really appreciate any help that anyone could give me, to cut this AVI video and to burn it to CD-Rs so I can watch it on my APEX AD 1500 DVD player.

please help me!! thanks
