    Hello,

I am having a heck of a time trying to download this video from PBS:

    https://www.pbs.org/wnet/americanmasters/art-spiegelman-documentary/35215/

I am in Canada, and it appears to be region-locked to America. I can watch it with a VPN, but I can't play it without one. Trying to download it so I can show one of my high school classes.

    Any assistance would be appreciated.

If possible, I would love the subtitles too.

Thank you. Forgive my total ignorance though, but how do I use this code? I'm used to finding torrents and acquiring media that way. Do I just put this into my "Run" command prompt?

Yes, if you have N_m3u8DL-RE.exe on your computer and it is in PATH, you can copy paste this code into "Run", press Enter and the resulting video with embedded subtitles and additional audio track will appear in C:\ (or system drive) after about 15-25 minutes.

But it is not the best way to download it.

If you are new to N_m3u8DL-RE.exe and want to learn how to use it, download the binary here first. After unzipping it, copy it to any folder. Also in that folder create a text file with the code above, then rename it to "my-downloader.cmd", change the extension from ".txt" to ".cmd" and open it. The download will start. When the command window disappears, the video file is ready to play.

Alternatively, I can upload the video.

You are a real life superhero. Thank you so much. I will tackle it tonight and if I can't figure it out I will ask you to upload it. Thank you!

I forgot to say that the folder must also contain ffmpeg.exe which you can get from here. If the operating system is windows 7, only the "essentials" version is compatible, otherwise for windows 10/ 11 the "full" version is also fine. After unzipping, the binary ffmpeg.exe is in "ffmpeg-7.1.1-essentials_build", "bin" folder.
