I have an older DVD player and DVD recorder. My TV does not have RCA ports. I bought a RCA to HDMI converter. After I hooked it up, I got a not very good picture when playing a DVD disc. Then I lost the picture and got a "No Signal" message on the screen. This happened with both DVD devices.

Any ideas what the problem is?
