Can anyone recommend a free software to use in Windows with a DVB-T USB dongle?

    URL format:
    dvb-t://frequency=602000000

    or

Go to menu, Media->Open Capture Device->TV-Digital

Can I only enter the frequency manually? Is there no way to search and store channels automatically?

    Don't think there's scanning feature.

Either use third party tool to scan or search the web for the frequencies of digital TV signal in your country.

How are you going to use the DVB-T USB Dongle?
Do you want to connect it to a laptop or a PC using a USB port?
It is better to use a DVB-T or DVB-T2 set top box as you would then get the signal out from from the HDMI connector and connect it directly to your TV or monitor (if it supports two HDMI inputs, without the need to use Windows)
On AliExpress you can find very cheap set top boxes but be warned that they can get really hot if they are too small in size

I previously used a DVB-T set top box connected to an HDMI port on the monitor, but since I have the DVB-T dongle I also want to try to connect it to a USB port on the PC.

I used this years ago with a generic tuner card and it worked well. Clunky, old-school interface but very reliable and flexible. Might have improved since.

I've since moved into the Hauppauge TV-capturing ecosystem.

What happens when you connect the DVB-T dongle to your PC?
If you get nothing then it is not supported for Windows.
Some dongles connects you to the website of the maker and from there you can download drivers and other things.
I suggest that you would give us the exact details about the model, maker, your country so that we know which TV channels broadcast in your area and if you need an external antenna to get a better signal strength.

Actually, I asked about this a few years ago and I forgot about it, but the question remains unanswered. The DVB-T USB dongle is Technaxx Mini DVB-T Stick S6 and is recognized by Windows as IT9135 BDA Device. I use an external antenna and an internal amplifier, but I need a better software than the included BlazeDTV 6.0.

You can try DVB Dream with limited features. The paid version is yearly subscription which is too expensive.

Also try ProDVB free version (Freeware)
