  1. I previously asked about this on DigitalFAQ, though I haven't received a solution as of yet. I'm using a Panasonic NV-SV1 (a Japanese VCR) and an I-O Data GV-USB2. I've recently acquired an ES15 which I'm incorporating into my workflow. I hook my VCR into the line 1 port of the ES15 with a set of S-Video and RCA audio cables, and hook the ES15 into my capture device with an additional set of S-Video and RCA audio cables. I'm using VirtualDub 1.10.4 for capture, which is set up in accordance to sanlyn's guide on DigitalFAQ.

When my ES15 is connected, there's a small amount of cropping (or masking?) at the top of the screen, about 2 pixels in depth. It does not squish the image, rather it cuts off 2 lines of information from the top of the video. This cropping doesn't appear when I connect the VCR directly into the capture device. I've tried capturing multiple tapes and the same issue has occurred for all of them.

My VirtualDub screen with the ES15 connected vs. without the ES15.

RAW capture with ES15 vs. without ES15.

The same captures after post-processing through Hybrid, again with ES15 vs. without ES15.

Any ideas what might be causing this? Perhaps it's a setting in the ES15 itself?

That is probably a by-product, or side-effect of the TBC itself.
Just a guess (I don't have one to know for sure)
